Building International Co-Productions At History Makers 2011

History Makers is the ideal environment to launch international co-productions. We try to provide the crucial information and key contacts that you need to broker global partnerships.

Three sessions in particular are designed with this purpose in mind:

Veteran international distributor Louise Rosen will be producing and chairing a session on international co-productions, presenting case studies that illuminate the particular imperatives of various key markets and the problems encountered in collaborating with them. The session will include participants from France, USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Canada and others.

Our international broadcasters panel likewise presents a global mix of important buyers and gives you their latest "wish lists" - what they are looking to buy - including France TV, CBC, ZDF Germany and History USA.

Stephen Hunter of National Geographic International has spent the last year finding out the essentials of the Asian market. His session will boil down that year into a convenient hour-long snapshot delivered with his usual humour and intelligence.

PBS's FRONTLINE To Get Top Honour At The 2011 History Makers Awards

History Makers is pleased to announce that FRONTLINE, US public television's (PBS) flagship public affairs series, will be awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award at this year's summit in New York!

Since first airing in 1983, FRONTLINE has consistently set the international standard for serious investigative journalism. In addition to the History Makers Outstanding Achievement Award, the series has garnered nearly every major journalism and broadcasting accolade, including 45 Emmy Awards, 25 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Journalism Awards (including three Gold Batons), 13 George Foster Peabody Awards, 11 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards, eight Television Critics Association Awards, seven Banff Television Festival Awards and two Edward R. Murrow Awards.

FRONTLINE originator and executive producer, David Fanning, will be attending the History Makers Awards ceremony on January 27th, 2011, to accept the award.

The Outstanding Achievement Award winner is chosen by the History Makers Advisory Board, which is composed of leading broadcasters and producers from across the globe. The award recognizes an individual or program that has consistently achieved excellence in history and current affairs programming, and has made an exceptional contribution to the industry as a whole. Past recipients include Professor Guido Knopp, Head of History for German broadcaster ZDF; Laurence Rees, former Head of BBC History; and journalist Walter Cronkite.

The History Makers Awards submissions deadline is November 1st, 2010. Submit your program today for the chance to be recognized alongside FRONTLINE at the awards Gala on January 27th, 2011.
